The district facilitators are available to assist with many additional areas including:
Demographics study
The demographics studies assist you in preparing effectively to work through the process of calling your next pastor or when considering a new ministry within your context. Please contact your District Facilitator for more information.
Community Engagement
The 5 C's of community engagement—often identified as Connection, Collaboration, Communication, Commitment, and Contribution (or similar variants like Clarity/Celebration)—are a framework for building lasting, active relationships within groups. They transform engagement from transactional to relational, enabling members to share goals and build collective capacity. Please contact your District Facilitator for more information.
Additional resource available:
Partnering with Fellow Ministries
Partnering with fellow ministries is a strategic, gospel-centered collaboration where churches and organizations share resources, people, and expertise to amplify their impact. It fosters unity, reconciles diverse communities, and prevents burnout by sharing the burden of ministry, embodying a “better together” approach. Please contact your District Facilitator for more information.
New Ministry Startups
New ministry startups in churches are Spirit-led, innovative initiatives designed to meet unmet community needs and foster engagement, often focusing on community building, social justice, or adapting traditional worship for new demographics. Please contact your District Facilitator for more information.
Grant Assistance
The Michigan District, LCMS provides financial support for projects, community outreach, and facility improvements. These funds support community-focused initiatives like food pantries, youth services, and other new and innovative ways to reach your community. The project should demonstrate a clear mission-focused outcome and active participation from congregational members. Please contact your District Facilitator for more information.
